Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Field Technician to support end-to-end fiber testing, characterization, and network deployment activities. The technician will test and troubleshoot fiber infrastructure, interpret OTDR results, and ensure projects meet customer requirements and timelines.

Ideal candidate has hands-on ISP/OSP fiber experience, OTDR testing, fiber characterization, and knowledge of fiber optic cables and telecommunications networks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with ISP/OSP fiber infrastructure.
• Strong ability to interpret OTDR results and perform fiber characterization.
• Experience with fiber optic testing and cable design/implementation.
• Excellent communication and travel ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber testing to evaluate connectivity and network performance.
• Perform OTDR testing and analyze results.
• Identify fiber cable and network failures in the field.
• Support ISP (Inside Plant) and OSP (Outside Plant) infrastructure.
• Travel to customer facilities as required.
• Coordinate with vendors and project teams to meet deadlines.
