Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a Vice President of Retail Distribution to lead the national retail agency distribution organization, guiding a field team of approximately 40 distribution professionals serving nearly 5,000 appointed agencies nationwide and driving profitable growth.

The role will collaborate with leaders across Retail, Wholesale, Payroll, Distribution Enablement, and Marketing to support market growth, agency engagement, and performance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within retail agency distribution.
• Deep knowledge of the commercial insurance marketplace and agency models.
• Strong relationship-building with agency principals, producers, and partners.
• Proven ability to lead large field organizations and drive profitable growth.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead GUARD's Retail Regional Distribution organization with strategic direction.
• Maintain field presence and develop relationships with agency partners to drive growth.
• Evaluate regional structure, alignment, and field effectiveness.
• Expand relationships with agency partners at national, regional, and local levels.
• Collaborate with Product, Underwriting, Service, Marketing and leadership on growth strategies.
• Coach and develop a high-performing distribution leadership team.
• Identify market opportunities and recommend actions for long-term growth.
• Align distribution strategies with company objectives and monitor performance.
