Job summary

I-5 Design Build is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent based in Lacey, WA, with 100% nationwide travel to assigned project sites across the Midwest to West Coast. Projects range two to 18 months, averaging eight months, with leadership responsibilities on-site and some preconstruction tasks.

You will coordinate field ops, vet subcontractors, maintain project docs, and work with project managers and leadership to keep schedules and quality on track.

Qualifications

• At least five years of superintendent-level experience leading high-end commercial construction.
• Experience with casino, hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, or high-end retail projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
• Experience coordinating and evaluating commercial subcontractors.
• Working knowledge of Procore or comparable construction-management software.
• Ability to develop and manage schedules using Microsoft Project or a similar platform.
• Strong computer literacy and comfort maintaining digital project records.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day on-site construction activities at assigned project sites.
• Manage project schedules, sequencing, quality, safety, and field productivity.
• Identify, evaluate, and coordinate qualified subcontractors.
• Supervise subcontractors, traveling field crews, vendors, and on-site trades.
• Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, codes, and company standards.
• Maintain daily reports, schedules, inspections, manpower records, and field documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and clients.
• Address field conditions and resolve construction or coordination issues promptly.
• Maintain communication with leadership and project team.
• Provide direction and mentorship to field personnel.
