Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a National Program Management Director – Transmission to lead nationwide electric transmission initiatives within the Energy Program. The role focuses on development, client engagement, and cross-disciplinary execution across environmental and engineering services.

The leader will shape program strategy, manage senior project teams, and collaborate with clients and regulators to win and deliver large-scale transmission projects. This is a national remote/hybrid opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering-related field.
• Fifteen years of experience in environmental permitting and/or compliance, with at least ten years on transmission projects.
• Ten years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility in management, including supervising professionals, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Established credibility with federal/state agencies and clients.
• Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering complex transmission routing, siting, permitting, and compliance projects.
• Identify industry trends and work with Energy Program Leads on long-term market strategy.
• Hire, mentor, and grow teams; supervise project managers, scientists, and field staff.
• Drive marketing and business development, build client relationships, and develop proposals and cost estimates.
• Ensure quality, safety, and adherence to regulatory requirements across projects.
