Job summary

Stantec's Energy team is seeking an accomplished US Transmission Line Engineering Manager to lead and advance our transmission line engineering and design practice nationwide. This senior role focuses on strategy, technical excellence, and growth, coordinating across offices and with clients to deliver high‑impact projects.

Reporting to the Power Delivery Operations Manager, you will mentor managers, guide project delivery, and shape workforce planning while expanding capabilities through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in at least one U.S. state.
• 15+ years of experience in transmission line engineering and leadership.
• Experience leading geographically distributed teams.
• Experience with business development, proposals, and client relationship management.
• PMI PMP certification is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the U.S. transmission line practice as a single integrated national team.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development oversight to managers and their teams.
• Develop and execute the strategic vision, growth plan, and objectives for the practice.
• Drive workforce planning and resource management across the organization.
• Mentor team members and provide strategic and technical guidance.
• Communicate performance and priorities to leadership using KPIs.
• Balance workload and ensure quality, schedule, and client outcomes.
• Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and professional development.
