Job summary

KBR Careers seeks a Data Center Engineer for an on-site role at Annapolis Junction, MD. Responsibilities include reviewing infrastructures, building secure, scalable environments, and transitioning legacy hardware to modern data center infrastructure.

Required are a TS/SCI clearance and DoD 8570.1-M IAT III certification, with 8+ years in infrastructure/datacenter engineering across Windows, Linux, UNIX, and related systems; VMware vCloud experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret / SCI clearance.
• 8+ years with BS/BA or 3–5 years with MS/MA or 0–2 years with PhD.
• Experience in Infrastructure/Datacenter engineering for physical and virtual hosting.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, Solaris, UNIX, and/or AIX operating systems.
• Current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing architectures and operations to identify improvements; document requirements for transitioning from legacy hardware to modern data center infrastructure.
• Design host and tenant environments with security hardened configurations for infrastructure services and maintenance practices for patching and updates.
• Design virtual infrastructure services to maximize compute, storage, and network capacity; document security, configuration, and performance benchmarks.
• Design production infrastructure services that support highly available, private cloud, active-active data center operations.
• Develop automation and orchestration to provision/de-provision resources.
• Identify infrastructure security actions, tests, and KPIs for dashboards and reporting.
• Create Service Catalog Items for Infrastructure Services for business and IT services.
• Provide advanced technical support in architecture, integration capabilities and database management.
• Develop end-to-end data flow and data governance, including DA policies, standards and procedures.
• Data quality, metadata consolidation, and repository management activities.
