Job description

This opportunity is designed for an accomplished commercial leader with experience driving growth through channel partnerships, strategic account development, and consultative selling within the water and environmental infrastructure sectors. The role combines national sales leadership responsibilities with direct customer engagement, market expansion initiatives, and the development of long-term strategic relationships across municipal and industrial markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the organization's commercial growth strategy throughout the United States while serving as a key link between customers, channel partners, engineering stakeholders, and internal leadership teams.

Professional Responsibility and Scope

The Sales Manager will lead the execution of national business development strategies focused on increasing market share, expanding customer relationships, and supporting long-term revenue growth objectives. Responsibilities include managing independent sales representatives, channel partners, strategic alliances, and key customer relationships while ensuring consistent market coverage and commercial performance.

The role requires ownership of strategic account development activities across municipalities, industrial facilities, engineering consulting firms, integrators, and equipment providers. The individual will actively identify new market opportunities, support the expansion of existing applications, and help position innovative infrastructure solutions in both established and emerging markets.

The position also involves collaborating with technical, product, and marketing teams to support proposal development, customer presentations, specification strategies, and competitive positioning efforts. The successful candidate will maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, customer priorities, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments affecting infrastructure investment decisions.

Responsibilities include forecasting, budgeting, sales planning, and market intelligence reporting to support organizational decision-making and growth initiatives. The individual will also represent the organization at industry conferences, technical forums, and customer events while serving as a visible leader within the industry.

Location and Lifestyle Context

This position is based within the Western Half of The United States and supports a national territory with regular travel throughout key markets and customer locations. Travel is expected to represent approximately 40 percent of the role and includes visits with customers, channel partners, engineering firms, and industry events.

The position offers significant autonomy and flexibility while providing exposure to a broad range of infrastructure applications and industry stakeholders across North America.

Long Term Professional Growth

This opportunity provides a pathway toward broader commercial leadership responsibilities, including regional management, strategic growth initiatives, and executive-level business leadership. The role offers significant visibility within the organization and the opportunity to influence market strategy, product direction, and long-term growth initiatives.

Professionals who perform well in this position will have the opportunity to expand their impact across new markets, emerging technologies, and broader organizational leadership functions.

Compensation

Total compensation includes a base salary ranging from $110,000 to $145,000, adjusted based on experience, market expertise, and commercial leadership accomplishments. Additional incentive compensation opportunities tied to business growth and performance objectives are included, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Team Environment and Leadership Approach

The organization promotes a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment where commercial and technical teams work closely to deliver solutions that address complex customer challenges. Leadership encourages initiative, accountability, and market-driven innovation while providing the support and resources necessary to execute effectively.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals who value customer relationships, technical expertise, and long-term partnership development.

Organizational Stability and Industry Position

The company operates within a specialized segment of the water and environmental infrastructure market, delivering advanced monitoring, control, and operational solutions that support critical municipal and industrial applications.

The organization maintains a strong reputation for technical expertise, customer responsiveness, and innovation while continuing to invest in new technologies and market expansion opportunities across North America.

Experience and Qualification Summary

The ideal candidate brings a minimum of ten years of commercial experience within water, environmental infrastructure, industrial automation, instrumentation, process equipment, or related technical markets.

Candidates should possess experience managing sales channels, independent representatives, distributors, or strategic partners while demonstrating success in direct account development and market expansion initiatives. Experience supporting engineering consultants, municipalities, industrial operators, and infrastructure stakeholders is highly desirable.

Strong leadership skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence multiple stakeholders are critical for success. Candidates should demonstrate experience in sales forecasting, contract negotiations, strategic planning, financial analysis, and market development activities.

Excellent communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate across commercial, technical, and operational teams are essential. A willingness to travel nationally and maintain strong customer engagement is required.
