Position Summary:

Responsible for generating group revenue through direct solicitation in local and feeder city, state and applicable vertical markets.

Essential Functions:

• Meet or exceed budgeted booking goals
• Initiate, prospecting, solicitation and outside calls
• Generating group revenue via converting inquiries into booking
• Identify new sources of business through cold calls in geographical territories
• Initiate sales contracts and ensure distribution to client
• Outside Sales Calls / Trade Shows in select feeder State/city markets
• Timely response to all inquiries and leads over multiple platforms
• Responsible for knowledge of Stein Eriksen Lodge and the Chateaux at Deer Valley and competition in local and other mountain destinations
• Conduct creative site inspections
• Proactive solicitation of group bookings through calls on past accounts
• Negotiate group rates in accordance with yield management to maximize revenue with approval from the Corporate Director of Revenue and Corporate Director of Sales
• Responsible for ensuring information regarding room block, billing, et., is communicated to the appropriate departments
• Responsible for preparing all correspondence and contracts to office standards
• Ensure short and long-term use of available function space in order to maximize revenue complementing room sales objectives
• Ensure smooth transition of directing the client to conference coordinator for follow-up once contract is signed
• Participation in sales blitzes
• Follow all department SOPs with respect to booking space based upon appropriate ratios of meeting space to guest rooms, contracting, entertaining, budgets, release of room blocks, Contract Cancellations, Travel & Tradeshow preparation and execution.

Other Responsibilities:

• Responsible for tracing dates to ensure group bookings (i.e. signed contracts, deposit received, etc.)
• Attend pre-cons
• Participation at trade shows (when applicable)
• Participation in select hotel organizations
• Complete various projects as assigned
• Attend special functions (i.e. Park City Chamber, client parties, etc.)

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

• College degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum five years hotel sales experience, preferably in a luxury resort mountain property
• Ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills in written, verbal, and telephone Basic knowledge of hospitality industry and guest relations Professional sales skills
• Knowledge of Delphi helpful
