Job summary

Stein Eriksen Lodge in Park City, Utah, seeks a Marketing Director to lead communications, public relations, and brand development for the Stein Collection. The role directs creative teams, collaborates with the Revenue and Events groups, and shapes campaigns for Leisure, Group, and Catering Sales across SELMC brands.

Responsibilities

• Directs marketing and public relations for SELMC brands
• Maintains and develops brand standards across Stein Eriksen Lodge, The Chateaux, Cena Ristorante & Lounge, and related properties
• Collaborates with Revenue Team, Catering, Reservations, and Events on marketing programs for Leisure, Group and Catering Sales
• Manages a team including Graphic Designer Manager, Copy Writer, PR Consultant and external partners
• Negotiates media buys and develops local and national media campaigns
• Oversees social media, SEO, email marketing, and digital content; coordinates photo/video shoots and collateral creation
• Manages annual marketing budget and strategic plans to grow revenue across properties

Compensation: Annual salary plus Incentive Program

Position Summary:

Works under the direction of the VP of Sales & Marketing. Directs marketing and public relations for SELMC, and maintenance and development of the brand standards of Stein Eriksen Lodge, The Glitretind Restaurant, Troll Hallen Lounge, The Spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge, The Chateaux Deer Valley, Cena Ristorante & Lounge, Stein Eriksen Residences, Luxury Homes by Stein Collection and Stein Eriksen Realty Group. Directly manages and develops the Graphic Design Manager by providing guidance on design, branding, and communications. Along with the VP of Sales & Marketing, this position works with the Revenue Team, Catering Manager, Reservations Director, The Event Services Director, the Group Sales Director and the Associate Director of Leisure Sales on the development of strong marketing programs for Leisure, Group and Catering Sales marketing programs to include the promotion of professional meetings, weddings, local catering, private parties and incentive based food and beverage programs. Manages an existing team comprised of Graphic Designer Manager, our Third-Party Social Media Vendor, Copy Writer, PR Consultant and our Third-Party Digital E Commerce firm and SELMC web sites.

Communications and Public/Media Relations

• Negotiates and places local and national media buys for all SELMC brands
• Works with Creative Marketing Consultant to develop local print media campaigns menus.
• Designs and develops national print media campaigns
• Maintain contact with local tourism authorities for media partnership opportunities and
• Work closely with PR Consultant to execute communications, press trips and media blitzes for all SELMC Brands.
• Negotiates and executes key media partnerships such as live radio broadcasts, and network television shows
• Works with PR Consultant to draft Press Releases and determine the geo-targeted areas to send the press releases out to.
• Maintain, and report on a monthly basis, accurate records of all print, radio, and television exposure
• Manages all media relations including press releases, correspondence, and coordinating media visits, press trips, and media blitzes.
• Hosts national media for meals and ski trips to showcase all the SELMC properties and create opportunities for editorial and TV opportunities.

Website/Online Brand Management/Social Media

• Works with third party digital firms to develop annual SEO, PCC, display and retargeting programs and budgets.
• Manages the calendar for posting creative and engaging content on a consistent basis for all social media platforms for all brands.
• Develops key strategies and partnerships to grow social media audiences on all platforms for SELMC properties.
• Develops creative for online media campaigns for all SELMC brands.
• Constantly searching for industry connections to research new market trends, new media opportunities and possibilities for joint ventures to benefit SELMC brands.
• Prepares digital press kits, photos and current press releases to ensure that the SELMC maintains brand consistency.
• Manages SEO campaigns monthly or seasonally as needed to adjust to booking trends
• Manages Email Marketing implementation for all company entities, with original design, HTML coding, subscriber maintenance/acquisition and analytics.
• Shoots photos for use in social media, print, digital and email.
• Takes video on gopro and DSLR and edits for sizzle reels, SELMC info videos and other promotional material to be distributed to press and social outlets such as youtube and vimeo.
• Manages the planning and implementing photo and video shoots for all properties for Marketing, including photographic art direction, and styling.
• Develops relationships with photographers for media opportunities
• Create and maintain relationships with all departments to develop collateral.
• Create graphic design of (but not limited to) logos, signs, brochures, catalogs, product packaging, training materials, forms, flyers, web design, and other promotional materials.

Budget & Strategy

• Works within the annual approved budget for SELMC Marketing & PR
• Focuses on marketing initiatives to create customer loyalty and increase market share.
• Maintains and grows hotel business with effective marketing plans and programs.
• Manages and develops marketing strategies to increase revenue for all SELMC properties by monitoring the competition, identifying changing customer needs, including technology and software implementation and development.
• Attends and coordinates annual training seminars for the marketing department to learn about the ever changing trends in marketing and hospitality.
• Works with VP of S&M to develop the annual SELMC Marketing Plan
• Researches relevant and interesting webinars to educate the marketing team

As a salaried position, the job requires business hours of 45-50 hours weekly, with some weekend hours as needed with managing marketing projects and entertaining media and directing photo and video shoots. Some travel can be expected with attending media shows and joint venture promotions with the Park City Chamber, Ski Utah and other related ski industry associations.
