Job summary

United Scrap Metal Inc. is seeking a National Manager Safety and Compliance to lead safety strategy across all operations. You will drive regulatory compliance, incidents prevention, and training, while coaching the safety team and promoting a strong safety culture.

Reporting to the National Director of Safety and Compliance, you will manage budgets, analytics, and cross-location audits, with travel required to sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• College degree and 10+ years of related experience.
• Experience in manufacturing / heavy industrial environment.
• Able to lead a team and drive initiatives.
• Willingness to travel monthly.
• Pass pre-employment physical, background and credit check.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead national safety strategies aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance and audit readiness across locations.
• Standardize safety programs across facilities for training and reporting consistency.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop safety training programs and leadership development.
• Conduct audits and field observations to verify compliance and risk.
• Oversee safety team and site champions, focusing on coaching and career growth.
• Drive safety culture with accountability and engagement from frontline staff.
• Manage reporting, KPI tracking, and executive safety dashboards.
• Oversee contractor safety performance and budgets for programs.
