Walbec Group seeks a strategic, hands-on HR Operations leader to architect and elevate our HR function as we expand from a regional construction group to a national presence. This role is the operational backbone, building scalable infrastructure, owning HR technology strategy, and transforming how we deliver people services for both union and non‑union workforces.

The HR Operations Manager will own the full spectrum of HR operations—from data integrity and service delivery to workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 4 years in HR Operations, HRIS, or leadership.
• Strong background in HR compliance activities.
• Experience in multi-state or national company operations in U.S.
• Workday HCM, Benefits, Absence, and/or Payroll modules preferred.
• Experience with union and non-union workforces; labor relations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Architect and oversee onboarding, hire process, and I-9 compliance.
• Own DOT/FMCSA and MVR monitoring, and compliance programs.
• Lead HR technology, data integrity, and HRIS governance (Workday).
• Build and run the HR Service Center (AskHR) with SLAs and knowledge library.
• Manage vendor performance, outsourcing opportunities, and contracts for compliance tools.
• Deliver workforce reporting and support HR dashboards; drive M&A integration playbooks.
