Job summary

The American Diabetes Association is seeking an experienced National Associate Director, Grant Development & Management to lead complex, high-value funding proposals. This role oversees strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and proposals for diverse funders, advancing ADA priorities and institutional partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include public health, nonprofit management, or related areas.
• 5+ years of grant development, proposal management, or institutional fundraising experience.
• Proven success securing funding from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funders.
• Experience cultivating and managing relationships with institutional funding partners.
• Proven ability to lead large, multi-partner grant proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, writing, and submission of complex grant proposals and funding requests.
• Research funding opportunities from federal, state, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Manage the proposal process from identification to submission with timelines and coordination.
• Develop strategies aligning funder priorities with ADA programs and objectives.
• Coordinate proposal activities across departments to ensure timely completion.
• Establish timelines, milestones, review cycles, and submission plans.
• Oversee multiple high-priority opportunities with quality and compliance.
