Job summary

The American Diabetes Association seeks a Director of Health Access & Quality Operations to coordinate planning, budgets, performance reporting, projects, and process improvement within a matrixed organization. The role works closely with Finance, Enterprise Strategy, the PMO, and other internal partners to ensure priorities, resources, and deliverables are organized and executed effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, operations, finance, organizational development, or a related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business operations, project management, program management, administration, or a related field.
• Experience supporting budgets, financial tracking, forecasting, and budget-to-actual reporting.
• Experience coordinating business or operational planning, including priorities, work plans, timelines, and resources.
• Experience coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
• Experience tracking KPIs, performance measures, or operational data.
• Experience working across departments or in a matrixed organization.
• Experience developing management reports, presentations, dashboards, or tracking tools.
• Experience identifying and implementing process or workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate departmental planning, priorities, timelines, deliverables, and operational activities.
• Maintain work plans, calendars, tracking tools, and reporting processes.
• Support leadership meetings, planning sessions, and operational reviews.
• Monitor deadlines, dependencies, resource needs, and follow-up actions.
• Coordinate departmental and cross-functional projects from planning through completion.
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, deliverables, risks, issues, and status reports.
• Coordinate information, meetings, decisions, and deliverables across Finance, Enterprise Strategy, PMO, People/HR, Technology/IT, Communications, Data/Analytics, and other internal partners.
• Escalate significant issues, risks, and delays to appropriate leaders.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, consistency, and accountability.
• Support process improvement initiatives using data and continuous improvement practices.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, workflows, and operational tools.
