Job summary

Core & Main LP seeks a Fleet Director to lead national fleet operations, driving modern, scalable processes for light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles. You will oversee strategy, lifecycle management, maintenance, vendor partnerships, and compliance, while delivering cost performance and safety improvements.

The ideal candidate is data-driven with a track record of standardizing processes, deploying technology, and guiding organizational change across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 10+ years of fleet/operations leadership in transportation, logistics, or operations.
• Proven change leadership across multi-location environments.
• Strong DOT, safety, and compliance knowledge.
• Experience with light-, medium-, and heavy-duty fleets.
• Data-driven decision making with KPI development and analysis.
• Experience with fleet systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year fleet strategy aligned with objectives.
• Lead transformation of fleet processes to improve efficiency and service levels.
• Oversee day-to-day fleet operations, lifecycle management, and utilization.
• Establish fleet policies, controls, and operating procedures across locations.
• Negotiate contracts and manage national/vendor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with DOT/OSHA and regulations.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to support data-driven decisions.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning for fleet.
• Standardize and optimize fleet replacement and lifecycle strategies.
• Evaluate and implement fleet management technologies and telematics.
• Lead cross-functional change initiatives and stakeholder alignment.
• Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Finance, IT, HR and field leadership.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing fleet team.
