Aerotek in Houston, TX is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, commission, and troubleshoot custom electrical equipment for energy and industrial projects nationwide.

You will travel to client sites to install switchgear, control panels, MCCs, transformers, and power systems, read blueprints, and perform testing and safety procedures.

This contract-to-hire role includes a $25/hr wage, travel with per diem, and a fast-paced shop rotation to support ongoing projects.

Responsabilités

• Travel nationwide to client sites to perform field installations, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning for electrical systems and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts to install mechanical and electrical aspects of switchgear, control panels, MCCs, transformers, and MCCs.
• Independently install and terminate control panels, MCCs, breakers, transformers, and complex power systems according to project specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct detailed troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment, reverse engineer problems, and proactively work with clients to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Perform testing and verification of electrical installations using multimeters, megohmmeters, phase testers, and other diagnostic tools, documenting all results accurately.
• Complete safety assessments at job sites and follow all applicable safety procedures, standards, and regulations, including OSHA and NFPA 70E.
• Prepare and submit clear, accurate field reports, test results, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with shop personnel, engineers, sales, and customer service teams to communicate field issues, provide feedback, and support continuous improvement of products and processes.
• Work in a fast-paced production shop when not traveling, assisting with installations, testing, and other tasks as needed to support ongoing projects.
• Maintain professional, client-facing communication and behavior in a variety of industrial and large customer site environments.
• Adhere to required personal protective equipment and dress code, including steel-toe footwear, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses, while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Manage sporadic travel schedules, including stretches of several weeks away from home, while remaining flexible to varying work hours and site requirements.
