Job summary

High Companies is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Estimator to lead nationwide capital projects, translating engineering assessments into vetted, priced plans. The role combines disciplined estimating, multi-year planning, and hands-on project execution across a national portfolio.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in PM, estimating, and planning, with strong cost management skills and experience reading engineering assessments.

Qualifications

• Relevant college degree required (engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred).
• 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in project management, estimating, and construction planning.
• Estimating experience is a hard requirement, including quantity-based estimating, opinions of probable cost, and the development of hard costs, soft costs, and general conditions.
• Demonstrated strategic planning ability: building plans, making educated assumptions, and exercising foresight in scoping and sequencing work, not solely producing estimates.
• Concrete restoration and waterproofing experience is preferred but secondary to general construction management, estimating, and planning experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering assessments, drawings, and details for the purpose of quantity takeoff and pricing.
• Strong problem solving, negotiation, and business management skills.
• Ability to work independently and to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Experience with the following software systems and types: SAP, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam. CRM (Salesforce) familiarity preferred.
• Accurate and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility in a fast paced, evolving work environment.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and cost planning for capital improvements.
• Translate engineering assessments into complete, priced project plans.
• Develop and manage estimate components: quantities, direct/indirect costs, permitting, traffic control, general conditions.
• Account for variables affecting cost: concealed conditions, depth escalation, shaping, and phased work.
• Collaborate with partners and vendors to validate pricing and scope.
• Verify scopes through field evaluation to reflect execution requirements.
• Maintain national accounts project portfolio schedule.
• Develop project phasing and multi-year capital plans.
• Coordinate transitions to local Project Managers and engineers.
• Serve as the PM for locations without local StructureCare personnel.
• Support local teams with guidance and oversight.
• Conduct field inspections and validate scopes.
• Oversee site logistics and subcontractor performance.
• Participate in project meetings and stakeholder communications.
• Prepare monthly forecasts and oversee project financial performance.
• Monitor expenditures against budgets and manage cash flow.
• Develop and maintain partner networks for portfolio requirements.
