Job description

Candidate must be based in Arizona, Colorado, Washington, or California.

The National Account Manager (NAM) will oversee overall operational performance, strategy, and execution for Cigna clients with 5,000+ employee lives. Responsibilities include developing and executing service strategies supporting large client global benefit programs, wellness, and employee relations, as well as Cigna's persistency, membership growth, and earnings targets. The NAM manages business relationships, collaborates across product and operational lines, and ensures systems and processes meet client and customer needs to drive organizational efficiency.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • College degree or 5+ years of related experience, preferred
  • 3+ years in healthcare/managed care, including product knowledge, underwriting, risk and financial analysis, marketing, sales, account management, and operational knowledge
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing skills, and courage
  • Strategic and financial acumen; ability to grow the book of business in partnership with NAE
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and drive results
  • Ability to foster relationships and demonstrate leadership in a matrix environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; confident presenter
  • Ability to work independently
  • Critical thinking and execution skills
  • Necessary licenses obtained

Duties include:

  • Supporting growth, profitability, and retention through effective service and account management
  • Collaborating on benefit, service, and relationship strategies to enhance customer and client experience
  • Maintaining market knowledge and promoting Cigna's services in retail or client settings
  • Partnering with NAE on retention, growth, and satisfaction strategies across multiple product lines
  • Engaging in renewal activities, RFPs, and reporting
  • Developing trusted relationships with clients and consultants
  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of Cigna products and services
  • Staying informed on healthcare legislation and compliance
  • Leading dental reporting and analytics
  • Implementing consumerism strategies to promote enrollment and behavior change
  • Understanding underwriting principles
  • Leveraging resources for client needs and solutions
  • Representing Cigna at market events
  • Managing provider networks and communication

For remote work, internet must be broadband or fiber with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds. The salary range is $80,900 - $134,800 annually, depending on experience and location, with potential eligibility for an annual bonus.
