Job description

Candidate needs to be based in Arizona, Colorado, Washington, or California.

The National Account Manager (NAM) will have responsibility for the overall operational performance, strategy, and execution for Cigna clients with 5,000+ employee lives. Primary responsibilities include developing and executing broad service strategies to support large client global benefit programs, wellness, and employee relations goals, as well as Cigna's persistency, membership growth, and earnings targets. The NAM effectively manages business relationships, collaborates, and communicates across all product and operational lines to ensure systems and processes meet client and customer needs, and drive organizational efficiency.

Ideal candidate will have a combination of:

  • College Degree or 5+ years of equivalent related experience (preferred)
  • 3+ years in healthcare/managed care, including product knowledge, underwriting principles, risk and financial analysis, marketing, sales, account management, and administrative operations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing skills, and courage
  • Strategic and financial savvy; ability to partner with NAE to grow the book of business
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to plan for both short and long-term priorities and results
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships and demonstrate leadership in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident and credible presentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Examples of critical thinking and execution skills
  • Must obtain necessary licenses

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the organization in achieving net medical membership growth, profitability, and persistency through effective service oversight, account retention, and management strategies
  • Collaborate with Advocacy partners on benefit, service, and relational strategies to enhance customer and client experience
  • Maintain market knowledge on service trends and differentiators; able to promote Cigna’s services in retail or client discussions
  • Work with NAE on account retention, growth, and satisfaction strategies, including multi-product collaboration
  • Collaborate on renewal activities, RFPs, and geo access reporting/analysis
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients and consultants, proactively engaging on needs and goals, leveraging Cigna’s capabilities
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Cigna products/services across all lines
  • Stay informed on Healthcare Reform legislation and compliance, articulating impacts confidently
  • Lead dental reporting, analytics, and presentations
  • Implement consumerism strategies to drive enrollment and customer behavior change, including communication campaigns and events
  • Understand and apply underwriting principles
  • Leverage resources to meet onsite client needs, providing creative solutions for optimal outcomes
  • Represent Cigna at market events
  • Manage healthcare provider networks and client-specific network activities

For remote work, internet must be broadband or fiber optic with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload speeds.

Anticipated salary range is $80,900 - $134,800 annually, depending on experience and location, with eligibility for an annual bonus.
