Job summary

Meta Security is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our Nation State leadership team. You will drive strategy, influence stakeholders, and develop detection and response automation across security and engineering teams.

You will identify critical assets and TTPs, assess top risks, and evaluate potential attacks against Meta systems, collaborating with policy, legal, and engineering partners to strengthen governance and controls.

Qualifications

• Understanding how to manage security risks in a fast-moving environment.
• 10+ years of experience in offensive or defensive cyber operations, detection and response engineering, or a similar security engineering role.
• Experience communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions.
• Experience delivering executive-level security strategies.
• Engineering experience and the capacity to understand and reason about complex technical systems.
• Experience designing systems used for responding to both external and insider threats.
• BS in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize risk across the company.
• Lead cross-company workstreams to deploy capabilities from multiple security teams to mitigate this risk.
• Apply attacker mindset to lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at strengthening incident detection and response capabilities for complex threats.
• Perform TTP-based threat modeling for assets including endpoints, mobile, servers, internal services, cloud environments, and networking equipment.
• Review the security architecture of large-scale systems, and propose logging, detection, and prevention controls.
• Work with policy and legal teams to strengthen standards and governance.
• Build response workflows that auto-resolve false positives and scale investigations.
• Influence asset-owning teams to adopt appropriate access control designs and processes.
• Support security incident response in a cross-functional environment and drive incident resolution.
• Build logging pipelines using custom datasets and infrastructure.
