Job summary

Meta Security is looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join our Nation State leadership team. You will be working across security and engineering teams to drive strategy, influence stakeholders, and develop detection and response automation leveraging both industry-standard and custom detection and response platforms.

You’ll also work alongside Security Engineers and Analysts to identify critical assets and TTPs, assess the top risks, and evaluate potential attacks against Meta systems.

Qualifications

• Understanding of how to manage security risks in a fast-moving environment.
• 10+ years in cyber operations, detection and response, or similar security engineering.
• Experience in communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions.
• Experience delivering executive-level security strategies.
• Engineering experience and the ability to understand complex technical systems.
• Experience designing systems for responding to external and insider threats.
• BS in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and prioritize areas of risk across the company
• Lead major cross-company workstreams to deploy capabilities from multiple security teams to mitigate this risk
• Apply domain expertise and an attacker''s mindset to lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at strengthening incident detection and response capabilities for complex threats
• Perform TTP-based threat modeling for assets including endpoints, mobile, servers, internal services, cloud environments, and networking equipment
• Review the security architecture of large-scale systems, and independently propose logging, detection, and prevention controls
• Work with policy and legal teams to strengthen our standards and governance
• Build response workflows and actions that auto-resolve false positives and provide context for investigations
• Influence asset-owning teams to adopt appropriate access control designs and operational processes
• Support security incident response in a cross-functional environment and drive incident resolution
• Build logging pipelines using our custom datasets and infrastructure

Education

B.S. in Computer Science or relevant field
