Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Machine Learning Researcher - Narratologist to push the boundaries of computational narratology for game development. The role focuses on building ML systems for narrative analysis, improving NLP models, and leveraging cloud infrastructure, with opportunities to present findings internally and at conferences.

The position is open to hybrid/in-office or fully remote work, and includes a comprehensive benefits package and a closing date for applications on March 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Sophisticated experimental NLP background in academic or industrial research.
• 5+ years programming experience.
• Fluent in Python and C++ (or Unreal C++).

Responsibilities

• Architect and build ML systems for complex narrative analysis.
• Quantitatively improve key NLP models, designing and/or integrating new models.
• Effectively leverage cloud infrastructure for training and serving.
• Keep a finger on the pulse of SOTA for key topics.
• Present results internally and possibly at external conferences.
• Optimize ML systems for cost, latency, and quality.
• Facilitate the deployment of results in demos.
