Wayne Alarm Systems on Nantucket Island is seeking a motivated Alarm Systems Technician and Apprentice to support our growing operations. This role involves installing Access Control, Fire Alarm, CCTV, and IP video systems while delivering high‑quality service.

This full‑time position offers competitive hourly pay ($22.00–$45.00), benefits, and strong growth potential. You will diagnose problems, replace components, handle inventory, and respond to emergencies to ensure safety and satisfaction

Qualifications

• Experience with alarm panels and life-safety systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install security products including Access Control, Fire Alarm, Security Systems, CCTV and IP Video.
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures to identify repairs.
• Replace system components such as panels and audible/visual alarms.
• Request equipment and maintain inventory for service needs.
• Respond to emergencies during and after hours to resolve safety concerns.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment and keep inventory records.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for installation of all security products including but not limited to Access Control, Fire Alarm, Security Systems, CCTV, IP Video
• Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and systems repair
• Replace system components as assigned; panels, audible/visual alarms, etc.
• Request equipment and supplies for maintenance of inventory and ensuring availability of equipment required to complete service
• Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns
• Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment
• Keep accurate inventory records

Requirements

• Experience with Alarm panels such as Ademco, GE, DSC, Firelite, Napco and others
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must have a good driving record
• Valid driver’s license
• Systems Technician Class D License or higher, or in school to attain license

Hourly Range

$22.00 – $45.00

Physical Demands

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing and balancing, kneeling, crouching and or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• Full time
• Monday through Friday
• 40 hours weekly

Travel

• Role is primarily based on Nantucket with some opportunity for Cape Cod based work.
