Description
Clary Sage College is looking for a Nail Technician Instructor! The Nail Technician Program prepares students for entry-level employment in Manicuring. Must be an experienced Nail Technician with a valid Oklahoma Master Instructor License (Cosmetology or Manicurist/Nail Technician Instructor) and have a minimum of three years of field experience with natural and acrylic nail enhancements. Must have experience in massage techniques, arm, hand, leg, and foot anatomy, manicuring, pedicuring, and various artificial nail applications. Strong verbal communication abilities, customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate nail technology equipment. If you have a sincere desire to help others succeed in this industry and have a passion for teaching, this is a great opportunity for you! The schedule is Mon-Thurs. 12:00pm - 10:30pm (Four 10-hour days with 3-day weekends!). Full-time evenings with great benefits. Licensed by OBPVS.

Primary Responsibilities
- Counsel students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback
- Adhere to curriculum expectations to ensure accreditation standards are met
- Perform a variety of instructional assistance, tutoring, and related support functions as needed
- Keep current on trends and styles related to Nail Technology
- Study, evaluate, and recommend textbooks, teaching aids, and materials to improve instruction
- Assist students in understanding the fundamentals of the subject material
- Monitor and assist with laboratory activities for students at various levels of proficiency
- Prepare, operate, maintain, and demonstrate classroom and laboratory equipment and materials
- Assist students with assignments, exercises, and tests
- Prepare students for state boards
- Document grades and attendance, post to transcript, maintain knowledge of Canvas
- Be familiar with rules of the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and other accrediting bodies
- Instruct students in safe service practices
- Adhere to OSHA standards and maintain compliance
- Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies
- Provide individualized or small group assistance and guidance
- Enforce syllabus and lesson plan adherence
- Support student retention and monitor attendance
- Make instructor observations for professional improvement
- Assist with program development and inventory management
- Maintain professional image and perform other duties as assigned
- Attend college events as required
- Report to the Department Head

Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
- Advanced industry knowledge and terminology in Nail Technology
- Ability to use curriculum in various teaching settings, including in-person, labs, and E-Learning
- Interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills; coaching and support abilities
- Leadership skills to command a class
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent time management and organization
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and campus management software
- Experience in higher education, adult training, curriculum development, or program administration is a plus
Education and Experience
- Valid Oklahoma Master Instructor License (mandatory)
- Minimum three years of verifiable Nail Technician experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical college teaching experience and related degrees are a plus
