Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position ensures that products are mixed in accordance with company guidelines and formula specifications.

This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times and to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety and quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  2. Attendance is essential to perform duties.
  3. Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and training.
  4. Always ensure regulatory compliance.
  5. Responsible for accurately weighing all ingredients to ensure consistent batching of products.
  6. Set up the mixing room and ensure the correct formulation of liquid egg products and ingredients using the pre-determined procedures approved by the company.
  7. Ensure accuracy and quality of individual batches to be mixed and transferred to the proper holding tank.
  8. Assemble and disassemble all piping and pumps accordingly.
  9. Ensure continuous product flow to each line.
  10. Determine if the product meets customer specifications and take corrective actions as needed.
  11. Record appropriate LOT numbers, pH, egg solids, and egg usage on batch sheets and egg usage forms.
  12. Maintain scales and meters as needed to obtain precise and accurate readings.
  13. Have thorough knowledge of the Clean in Place (CIP) process.
  14. Assist in the general good housekeeping of the area, including pipes, pumps, and tanks.
  15. Take personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and incorporate safety and health into all job duties/tasks.
  16. Follow safe work practices, GMPs, and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills necessary to operate equipment controls.
  • Knowledge of pumps and valves with 6 to 12 months of related experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with two-digit numbers and operations involving units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to read a limited number of words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and earmuffs in certain areas.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Frequent walking and standing.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work indoors in wet and humid environments and stand on hard surfaces.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs.
