Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a POWER ELECTRONICS ENGINEER for San Jose, CA, on-site only, focused on high-power conversion platforms (kW to MW). The role targets AC/DC, DC/DC, and HVDC/DC converters for data center and infrastructure applications.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering preferred with hands-on experience in power electronics.
• Experience with AC/DC, DC/DC, or inverter-based power systems preferred.
• Strong lab validation, testing, debugging, and system-level optimization fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate high-power conversion systems (kW → MW).
• Perform topology trade-offs and efficiency/thermal/EMI analyses.
• Lead hands-on lab bring-up, testing, and debugging of prototypes.
• Develop reference designs and enable platform-level R&D without production ownership.
