Job summary

Military Veterans Point Network (Veterans Point), based in Roanoke, Texas, seeks a MVPN Community Partnerships and Volunteer Development VISTA to bolster capacity and expand access to community resources for Veterans and their families. The VISTA will work to strengthen partnerships, volunteer systems, and program effectiveness in the North Texas area.

The role focuses on developing sustainable partnership models, recruiting and training volunteers, and migrating a computer restoration program

Qualifications

• Experience in communications and nonprofit management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with fundraising or grant writing.

Responsibilities

• Assess partnerships, volunteer systems and processes to build capacity.
• Develop a sustainable community partnership system and improve volunteer recruitment, training, onboarding, and retention.
• Plan migration of a computer restoration program to provide no-cost computers for Veterans.

MVPN Community Partnerships and Volunteer Development VISTA

Military Veterans Point Network (Veterans Point) based in Roanoke, Texas serves 10,000 veterans and their families annually. They facilitate connection for their clients with taking a holistic approach, prioritizing relational support rather than transactional services. Roanoke is in Denton County in the North Texas area. Programs offered are Veteran Equine Riding Course, Golf Lessons, Holiday events, art classes and home repair assistance. The MVPN VISTA strengthen capacity building for seeking out resources and services as well as migrating a computer restoration program under its umbrella as a new resource. Member Duties

The MVPN VISTA will assess existing partnerships, volunteer systems and organizational processes to develop a capacity building plan that addresses barriers to connecting Veterans households experiencing poverty with community resources. The VISTA will develop a sustainable community partnership system and enhance volunteer recruitment, training, onboarding and retention systems. The VISTA will develop a plan to migrate a one-person computer restoration program to provide computers at no cost for Veterans seeking employment and other services.
