Job summary

Eaton Arden, NC seeks a MVCA Lead Design Engineer to design and lead medium voltage control components and assemblies. You will direct cross-functional teams, prepare documentation, and manage schedules within budget.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial engineering, a degree in engineering (electrical preferred), and the ability to travel up to 10%. You’ll contribute to patents and technical publications while advancing product designs to meet MV standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• No relocation; must reside within 75-mile radius of Arden, NC.
• QEW certification or demonstrated experience with energized/de-energized equipment (preferred).
• Experience writing technical articles, presenting papers, and patent disclosures (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional design teams and direct project documentation.
• Ensure projects meet schedule and budget constraints.
• Plan engineering approaches, define work scope, and manage milestones.
• Perform design, development and testing to maintain the product line.
• Develop designs involving spring-loaded mechanisms and levers.
• Prepare specifications for products, equipment, and processes.
• Maintain detailed project schedules and resource plans.
• Apply modeling/CFD/thermal analysis tools for validation.
• Contribute to technical and business strategy.
• Support plant cost-improvement initiatives.
