Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC seeks a detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to support data-center projects with a focus on medium-voltage power distribution. You will design mechanical parts for switchboard and switchgear, guide the design from concept through release, and provide technical guidance to global supply chain and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years in product development.
• Aptitude for problem solving and applying it to electrical control design.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain latest revisions.
• Knowledge of MV switchgear standards and electrical schematics.
• Experience with AutoCAD or SEE Electrical is preferred.
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept and detailed design of power systems including busbar, cables, and wire harnesses.
• Develop and assemble electrical drawing packages for review by the team.
• Prepare electrical schematics and single-line diagrams per customer specs.
• Create and manage the bill of materials for electrical designs.
• Collaborate with mechanical and automation teams to resolve issues across projects.
• Develop control wiring for transfer controllers, PLCs, and power monitoring systems.
• Write test scripts to verify control schemes.
• Release changes into the PLM system and support prototyping.
