Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of product development experience or an Associate’s Degree with 9+ years experience.
• Expert in 3D CAD design; SolidWorks and/or Creo preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and understand electrical components such as fuses, circuit breakers, and transformers.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept and detailed mechanical design of power systems using sheet metal, busbar, power cable, and wire harnesses.
• Develop complex drawings and BOMs, including 2D drawings and Model Based Design (MBD).
• Collaborate with other Mechanical Engineers to break down tasks and share design ideas.
• Submit and release change orders for products in PLM using revision control.
• Coordinate analyses for Seismic, CFD, and Thermal designs with internal simulation teams.
• Assist manufacturing with prototype builds and provide guidance as needed.
• Interpret industry design standards (UL, NEC, IEC) for product designs.
