Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC is seeking a SR Mechanical Design Engineer to design mechanicals for Switchboard/Switchgear and LV power distribution systems, supporting NPD and sustaining products. You will develop 3D CAD designs, generate drawings and BOMs in PLM, and collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and supply chain while ensuring UL/NEC/IEC compliance.

This onsite role requires hands-on prototype testing, travel as needed, and strong communication to translate technical data for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ years in product development.
• Expert in 3D CAD; SolidWorks and/or Creo preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and components like fuses and transformers.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept and detailed design of power systems using sheet metal, busbar, and cables.
• Develop 2D drawings and MB(D) for mechanical designs and BOMs.
• Collaborate with other engineers to balance tasks and ideas.
• Release changes in PLM and manage revision control.
• Review seismic, CFD, and thermal analyses with internal teams.
• Support prototype builds with manufacturing and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with UL, NEC, IEC standards.
