Southern Power Systems is seeking a Medium Voltage Breaker Technician to overhaul and test breakers up to 15kV in the Gulf Coast region. The role includes field work across multiple sites, with responsibilities ranging from inspection to retrofitting breakers and recording test data.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of industrial electrical experience, can read schematics, and are prepared to obtain TWIC certification. CDL preferred; travel and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of industrial or substation electrical experience preferred.
• CDL or Chauffeur’s license preferred; ability to pull a trailer.
• Must be able to obtain TWIC certification.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Willingness to work at multiple Gulf Coast locations; travel required.
• Active participation in safety analyses and environmental processes.

Aufgaben

• Overhaul low & medium voltage breakers (<15kV) and inspect functioning manually or electrically.
• Perform testing, record breaker information, and document results.
• Retrofit LV breakers with upgrades per procedures (trip units, coils, interlocks).
• Understand switchgear operation and read schematics; work across multiple sites.
