Responsibilities

General Definition:Sells wagers on live and simulcast racing, handles large amounts of money with the ability to make change, cashes winning tickets, checks ID’s, and maintains an accurate cash balance. Explains wagering rules and company procedures in a friendly, ethical manner.Essential Job Functions:Greets patrons and communicates racing information as requested in a friendly, professional manner, including race results, reading programs, wagering advice, issuance of vouchers for self-service machines and giving instruction on how to place a wager.Quickly and accurately depresses corresponding numbered key of terminal in accordance with patron’s wager instructions and provides patron with ejected wager ticket in a timely manner.Accepts money and makes appropriate change.Accounts for all cashed or cancelled tickets and forwards to Mutuels Management and the Money Room for verification and reconciliation.Handles large sums of cash and maintains an accurate cash balance, and follows departmental cash handling procedures daily.
