Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Sustainment Engineer to keep its Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel platforms mission-ready. You’ll support propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and hull systems, diagnose field faults, and help train military technicians for long-term sustainment.

The role blends hands-on maintenance with product development, requiring clear communication with technicians and engineers. Willingness to travel up to 75% for trials and engagements is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent operational experience in marine engineering.
• USCG Third Assistant Engineer license with OICEW and STCW endorsement.
• Experience maintaining marine propulsion, electrical, or mechanical systems.
• Experience with unmanned or autonomous maritime platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and hull systems on USV platforms.
• Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and restore mission readiness on schedule.
• Conduct dockside and waterborne inspections to verify system integrity.
• Maintain logs and documentation per guidelines and DoD standards.
• Assist in spare parts inventory and OEM/vendor coordination.
• Develop and update maintenance SOPs and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with operators and engineers on safety and readiness.
