Job summary

The University of Florida School of Theatre and Dance seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Musical Theatre to provide collaborative leadership and to teach, mentor, recruit, and contribute to the program’s growth. The successful candidate will guide curriculum development and collaborate across acting, voice/music, and dance to train well-rounded theatre artists.

Qualifications

• Professional performance experience in musical theatre.
• Experience in established regional, national, touring, or comparable professional markets.
• Ability to support undergraduate students through teaching, coaching, directing, mentorship, and related experiences.
• Teach a range of courses from introductory to advanced levels, including musical theatre performance and history.
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and student recruitment/retention.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of courses from introductory through advanced levels in musical theatre.
• Direct and collaborate on fall musical and/or concert productions.
• Coordinate and develop the Musical Theatre program with faculty colleagues.
• Mentor BFA Musical Theatre and Acting students in academic and professional development.
• Recruit promising students and participate in School and College recruitment activities.
