Job summary

The University of Florida School of Theatre and Dance seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor of Musical Theatre to lead and shape the BFA Musical Theatre program through teaching, mentorship, recruitment, and service. The successful candidate will bring professional performance experience and a demonstrated ability to support undergraduate students’ academic and artistic growth.

• Experience in musical theatre performance and coaching/directing.
• Ability to mentor undergraduate students across acting, voice, and dance.
• Proven ability to recruit and retain students for a BFA Musical Theatre program.
• Strong track record in curriculum development and program assessment.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of courses from introductory to advanced levels in musical theatre.
• Direct productions and contribute to the fall and/or concert seasons.
• Mentor BFA Musical Theatre and Acting students in academic and professional development.
• Collaborate across acting, voice/music, and dance curricula and recruit students.
• Engage in School, College, and University service and outreach.
