Job summary

Miami Dade College seeks a Faculty member in Theatre (Musical Theater/Music Director) to teach in a professionally focused curriculum for NWSA High School magnet and BFA conservatory programs.

The role includes serving as music director and conductor for two mainstage productions each academic year, accompanying for classes and performances, and advising students through recruitment and juries.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Music or equivalent with 18 graduate hours in Music from a regionally accredited institution.
• Doctorate stipend is awarded in addition to base salary if degree is awarded prior to start date.
• Start date anticipated to begin on or before the 2027 Spring Semester.

Responsibilities

• Teaches music theory, vocal ensemble, musical theatre auditioning and repertoire, history of musical theatre, and co-teaches musical theatre workshop and BFA senior showcase.
• Serves as an accompanist/pianist for classes, productions, juries, showcases, and other events connected to the musical theatre curriculum.
• Participates in department meetings and all other department, division, campus and college committees as assigned.
• Advises and recruits prospective students.
• Evaluates student juries, performances, and attends student conferences as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
