Job summary

Miami Dade College is accepting applications for Faculty, Theater - Scenic Design, Production Management, Technical Direction. This role teaches stagecraft, stage management, designing scenery and serving as production manager and technical director for five mainstage productions.

You will design scenery, schedule construction and installation, lead production meetings, supervise students and staff, maintain theatre spaces and equipment, oversee safety, and recruit prospective students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 3+ years college teaching.
• 18 graduate semester hours in Theatre or Drama.
• All degrees from regionally accredited institutions.
• Doctoral stipend may be awarded in addition to base salary.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in stagecraft and stage management at high school and college levels.
• Design scenery and plan construction and installation schedules.
• Schedule production meetings and manage production calendars and budgets.
• Maintain theater spaces, equipment, and inventory with department staff.
• Promote safety for students, faculty, staff, and audiences.
• Recruit and advise prospective students; participate in department meetings.
• Supervise contracted designers and student crews.
