German Centre is a dedicated senior care community with a focus on providing compassionate, specialized care for individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other age-related conditions. We believe in the power of therapeutic activities to enhance our participants' quality of life and are committed to innovative approaches that promote overall well-being. German Centre's Senior Place ADH is a warm, welcoming environment for older adults who want to age at home but require daily living support. The goal of this program is to provide respite care for older adults and their caregivers, through social and recreational enrichment and hands-on medical assistance.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified Music Therapist to join the German Centre/Senior Place ADH team. This role is essential to our mission of providing holistic care to our participants. The Music Therapist will be responsible for designing and implementing music therapy interventions tailored to the individual needs and abilities of our participants. This position will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to create an engaging, therapeutic environment that fosters emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess participants' needs and abilities, and develop individualized music therapy plans to support their well-being.
  • Conduct individual and group music therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of musical techniques to promote emotional and cognitive health.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nursing and social work staff, to integrate music therapy into participants' overall care plans.
  • Document participants' progress, maintain accurate records of sessions, and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Adapt therapy plans and interventions based on ongoing assessments and feedback from participants, families, and staff.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss resident progress and coordinate care approaches.
  • Provide guidance and education to staff and family members about the benefits of music therapy for participants with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other conditions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) with a valid license to practice in Massachusetts.
  • Experience working with seniors, particularly those with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments preferred
  • Understanding of therapeutic techniques for older adults and familiarity with evidence-based practices in music therapy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals with varying levels of cognitive and physical ability.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for seniors.
Schedule
  • Open to fulltime or part time applicants with flexibility to accommodate program needs.
Compensation
  • $500 sign on bonus for Full-Time Hire
  • Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
