Job summary

Legacy Lifecare VNA and Hospice invites qualified music therapists to deliver individualized sessions tailored to patient preferences and goals. The role involves using music for relaxation, pain management, emotional processing and end‑of‑life support, while collaborating with patients, families and the care team to align with overall plans.

Travel to patient homes and hospice facilities is required across multiple service sites; a Bachelor’s degree in music therapy and MT-BC certification are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music therapy or related field.
• MT-BC Board Certification from an AMTA-approved program.
• Experience with end-of-life patients or in long-term care preferred.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to patient homes or hospice facilities.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual music therapy sessions tailored to patient preferences and goals.
• Use music to address relaxation, pain management, emotional processing, developmental support, and end‑of‑life/bereavement needs.
• Collaborate with patients, family members and other team members to align with the patient’s overall care plan.
• Coverage area includes multiple sites reachable by traveling to patient homes or facilities.

Music Therapist | Legacy Lifecare VNA/Hospice — $75 per visit (licensed)

PRN | 5‑20 hrs per week | Flexible Daytime Hours

• Deliver individual music therapy sessions tailored to patient preferences and goals
• Use music to address relaxation, pain management, emotional processing, developmental support, and end‑of‑life/bereavement needs
• Collaborate with patients, family members and other team members to align with the patient’s overall care plan
• Coverage area includes German Center (West Roxbury), ANRC (Jamaica Plain), Stone (Newton), BCL/Kaplan (Peabody) Revere, East Boston, Everett, Malden, Chelsea, and Winthrop.

Qualifications for Success

• Bachelor’s degree in music therapy or related field
• Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT‑BC) from an AMTA‑approved program
• Prior experience working with end‑of‑life patients, or in a long‑term care setting preferred
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to patient homes or hospice facilities.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written
