Job summary

Fairmont State University is seeking a Music Librarian to manage the music library in Wallman Hall and support ensembles including the Wind Ensemble, Falcon Marching Band, FSU Choir, and FSU Jazz Ensemble.

The role involves organizing, filing, and distributing music for these groups, assisting the Director of Bands with copying and distributing parts, and helping with archival duties at season end. This student appointment is academic-year in duration with a base hourly rate of $10.00.

Qualifications

• Organized, detail-conscious, and a self-starter.
• Experience using a database for the electronic filing and organization of parts and scores.
• A musician in the Marching Band and/or Wind Ensemble is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities

The music librarian is responsible for maintaining the musiclibrary in Wallman Hall.

• Organize, file, and categorize music for the Fairmont StateUniversity Wind Ensemble, Falcon Marching Band, FSU Choir, and FSUJazz Ensemble.
• Assist the Director of Bands with making photo copies of partsand distributing them to the students enrolled in Wind Ensemble(Spring semester) and/ or Marching Band (Fall semester) and helpcollect and re-file parts at the end of marching season and/ oreach concert cycle for Wind Ensemble.
• May also be responsible for other departmental duties asassigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Organized, detail-conscious, and a self-starter.
• Comfort with using a database program for the electronic filingand organization of parts and scores as well as work with hardcopies of sheet music.
• A musician in the Marching Band and/or Wind Ensemble is preferredbut not required.
