The City of Norfolk, VA is seeking a Recreation Activity Instructor to plan, implement, and evaluate music programming for youth, teens, adults and seniors. The role focuses on teaching diverse instruments and developing fee-based classes at Lakewood Dance & Music Center in Norfolk, VA.

Ideal candidates will have music education experience, at least one year of teaching, and a valid driver’s license; CPR/First Aid within six months is required. Flexible, part-time hours apply.

Qualifications

• Must have education and/or experience in music education or closely related field.
• At least one year of instructional experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• CPR/First Aid Certification within six months of employment.

Responsabilités

• Teaches music classes at various levels (voice, piano, guitar, percussion, brass, strings).
• Develops and organizes classes in at least two instruments.
• Assists with fee-based music classes and curriculums.
• Manages classroom activities, schedules students, and provides feedback.
• Markets programs by distributing flyers and making announcements.
• Safely operates music equipment and maintains a customer-friendly environment.
