Job summary

SoundCloud in New York is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team across the US and Berlin. You will be part of a dynamic group supporting music distribution, premium artist, and advertising lines while partnering with global teams to streamline accounting processes.

Qualifications

1+ year of experience in Accounting or Auditing, preferably in the Music industry.
Strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus).
Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
Able to work in a fast-paced, output-focused environment.
Excellent analytical skills and a structured, collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

Manage monthly & annual closing and reporting for the distribution line of business.
Own Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable, including reconciliation between DSP reporting, royalties system, and GL.
Run monthly reconciliations for all accounts in your business lines.
Track cash and marketing advances and recoupments; ensure recoupable expenses align with artist accounts.
Maintain General Ledger accuracy for P&L and balance sheet items.
