Job summary

SoundCloud in New York is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our finance team across multiple lines of business. You will handle month-end close, revenue recognition, AR, and GL duties while coordinating with global teams to streamline processes.

You will work closely with stakeholders, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and contributing to process improvements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in Accounting or Auditing, preferably in the music industry.
• Strong MS Excel skills and working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus).
• Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly and annual closing and reporting for the distribution line of business.
• Own Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable, including reconciliation with DSP reporting, royalties system, and GL.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of all accounts for your lines.
• Track cash and marketing advances and recoups, ensuring expenses are linked to artist accounts.
• Maintain General Ledger accuracy for P&L and balance sheet items.
• Create and process outgoing invoices and record cash receipts.
• Process label and music publishing invoices and payments.
• Collaborate with FP&A and partner with other teams on accounting projects.
