Job summary

SoundCloud is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our US finance team in New York. You will support music distribution, premium artist, and advertising lines, collaborating with Berlin-based teams and other stakeholders across the SoundCloud Group.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in Accounting or Auditing.
• Strong MS Excel skills; ERP systems experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Able to work in fast-paced environment with strong initiative.
• Team-oriented with good analytical approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly & annual closing and reporting for distribution.
• Own Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable, including reconciliation with DSP reporting, royalties system, and GL.
• Execute monthly reconciliations of all accounts.
• Track cash and marketing advance payments and recoupments, ensuring recoupable expenses are linked to artist accounts.
• Maintain General Ledger bookkeeping for all P&L and balance sheet items.
• Create and process outgoing invoices and receive payments.
• Process label and music publishing invoices and payments.
• Partner with FP&A.
• Collaborate with other teams on accounting projects.
