Job summary

Education Through Music, Inc. (ETM) in New York City seeks a full-time Instructional Supervisor to lead a cohort of NYC music teachers across PreK-12 partner schools.

You will ensure high-quality instruction, curricular programming, and professional behavior that aligns with ETM standards. The role requires regular on-site visits, development of teacher growth plans, actionable feedback, and collaboration with school leadership to plan events and ensure ETM resources and classrooms are fully

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music education; 6 years of K-12 teaching experience.
• Expertise in choir, string ensemble, or band; strong vocal/instrumental skills.
• Knowledge of music pedagogy, curriculum design, and child development.
• Proficient in Google Classroom and Google Suite; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Regular on-site visits to observe instruction and environment.
• Design professional development plans to strengthen teachers’ skills.
• Provide actionable feedback and document progress.
• Manage employee accountability per ETM policies.
• Guide teachers in developing activities, lesson plans, and assessments.
• Support classroom management and implementation.
• Assist with school partnerships and communications with leadership.
• Plan and execute student performances meeting ETM standards.
• Ensure ETM rooms are fully equipped and stocked.
• Contribute to ETM training knowledge base and resources.
• Oversee Google Classroom authors and managers.
