Education Through Music is a nonprofit partnering with NYC public schools to place music teachers and programs into curricula. We hire teachers who can obtain eligible status from the NYC Department of Education and may require fingerprinting/background checks.

Pay range is $56,051–$66,644 per year, with benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and professional certification support. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Music/Arts or Related Field.
• 1–3 years of teaching groups of up to 30 children.
• Ability to model quality singing in front of children.
• Knowledge of musical pedagogy practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as school music faculty and develop the in-school program with program staff.
• Produce two school-wide concerts each year.
• Coordinate and develop the in-school music program.
• Attend school-wide functions such as assemblies and graduations, after-school activities.
• Comprehensive scope and sequencing of lesson planning.
• Reflect, implement, and improve existing processes.
