Job summary

The Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum in Ilwaco, WA is seeking a part-time Visitor Service Manager to oversee front desk, museum store, memberships, volunteers, rentals and service contracts. This role reports to the Executive Director and focuses on delivering a positive visitor experience while assisting with budget adherence and museum events.

Responsibilities include developing programs to grow membership and donations, managing volunteer recruitment and training, coordinating with vendors,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience with website management, particularly WordPress.
• Cash handling and customer service experience.
• Supervisory experience in visitor services, retail, or related field.
• Knowledge of Past Perfect database software.
• Experience utilizing common software including Canva, Excel, Square, Past Perfect and QuickBooks.
• Experience supervising volunteers.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience museum, historic site, non-profit, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee visitor services, museum store, membership, volunteers, and rentals.
• Ensure a positive visitor experience and assist with budget adherence.
• Develop and manage the membership program and donor relations.
• Lead volunteer program recruitment, orientation, training, and scheduling.
• Coordinate front desk operations and vendor relationships to stock local products.
• Oversee publicity, press releases, and website updates.
