City of Oshkosh, WI, through the Oshkosh Public Museum, seeks a Visitor Services Associate to greet visitors, assist with admissions, and help with Museum Store sales and memberships.
You will operate the POS system, manage merchandise, and support staff with donor data while maintaining a welcoming, professional environment. This is a 15–20 hour per week, limited-term position with varied shifts.
The Visitor Services Associate is responsible for providing friendly customer support to visitors, assisting with Museum Store sales, and supporting the staff at the Oshkosh Public Museum (OPM). As the first point of contact with visitors, Visitor Services staff maintain excellent customer service and professionalism while creating a welcoming environment for the public.

Equipment typically used in office and retail environments such as: Point of Sale System, multi-line telephone, personal computer with Windows operating system, copier, online databases, and various office and store tools such as labeler, stapler, scissors and calculator.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, equipment, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

This is a public-facing position. Work environment requires interaction with the public mainly indoors in Museum spaces and occasionally outdoors on Museum grounds. The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet.

This is a limited term position working 15-20 hours per week beginning in September and ending late March 2027. Work shifts will be flexible but could include Tuesday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Thursdays have extended hours up to 7 p.m.
