Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Sheldon Museum of Art is seeking a Visitor Experience Associate (On-Call) to welcome visitors and support front desk operations in Lincoln, NE. You will help with events, monitor galleries, and assist guests with information about exhibits and safety policies.

You will interact with security and staff to ensure a positive visitor experience, handle merchandise sales, and stay informed about current exhibitions and museum operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming environment and front desk coverage at the Visitor Services Desk
• Record attendance, visitor information, and guest feedback
• Assist with setup and teardown for events and serve as event ambassador
• Process sales of museum-related merchandise
• Educate guests about upcoming exhibitions and museum policies
• Maintain visual tidiness and report maintenance issues
• Work with security to ensure safety of guests and artworks
• Attend monthly training sessions with visitor services manager
• Have working knowledge of Sheldon’s collection and exhibitions
