New Britain Museum of American Art is seeking a friendly Store Associate for our Museum Store. This part-time role on the sales floor focuses on helping visitors, recommending products, and completing transactions with care and accuracy.

You will learn about prints, stationery, books, and gifts, participate in stock replenishment, and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive shopping experience. Flexibility for weekday and occasional weekend shifts is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strong customer service skills.
• Prior retail and cash handling experience preferred.
• High School diploma, Some college preferred.
• Desire for part time employment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Flexible schedule includes mostly weekday hours and some weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Engage visitors, make product recommendations, and answer requests about inventory.
• Maintain the sales floor by cleaning, organizing, and restocking merchandise.
• Process purchases and returns accurately according to Museum procedures.
• Learn about prints, stationery, books and gift categories to assist customers.
• Follow Museum policies and uphold professional and ethical standards.
